Hello. I'm Michelle, owner of Venice Massage Therapy. I am a 2009 graduate of the Florida Academy of Massage. I am nationally certified (NCBTMB) and a member of (FSMTA) Florida State Massage Therapy Association. Massage is an exciting and challenging field that I am very excited to be a part of. I have a master's degree in education and I am also a licensed esthetician. However, my passion is massage. I've always wanted to be a massage therapist. I believe it has very profound physical and mental benefits that can help people maintain a healthy body and healthy mental state of being. I'm looking forward to building my clientele and making a difference in people's lives.

Short Bio:

I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. After graduation, I moved to Port Charlotte, Florida. I taught 3rd grade in Desoto County. I moved back to Indiana to teach at an alternative high school. I taught there for 2 years. During that time, I earned a Master's of Arts in Administration. With this, I became the principal/director of the alternative high school for 2 more years. I was also offered a part-time position with Oakland City University as an adjunct teacher. I taught adult accelerated college courses at night, which included English 101, English 102, Literature, and Public Speaking. I really enjoyed this teaching experience. It was an amazing opportunity to teach adults at the college level. What an experience this was. I always believed it was a good day as long as I was learning as much or more than I was teaching. Then, I was offered a job as the director of an adult education center in Kentucky. Upon completion of this school year, I resigned and moved to Florida with my family. I was exhausted with teaching at the moment and decided to go to skin care school to become an Esthetician. This gave me an introduction to the spa scene and I fell in love with massage and decided to go back to school again. Yes, I love school. I'm sure I'll be going back again soon. I adore learning.

Now that I've been doing massage, I know I made the right decision. It is a very satisfying feeling knowing I've made someone feel better; whether it's by working out tight knots, soothing a lower back, or just helping them to relax and melt all their stresses away with my relaxation massages. I love people. I love meeting new people and making life long connections.

It's always a pleasure to have you because we love what we do here and we'll work hard to make sure you leave rejuvenated and smiling!

Massage is such a great way to keep our mind and body in balance, and if used on a regular basis can make a big difference in our overall sense of well being as we do our regular everyday activities. I'm a believer in the awesome power of human touch, and to facilitate the human body in it's own unbelievable capacity to heal itself is a priveledge!

To tell you a little about my backround, like most of us here I came from out of state, in 1997 I left my hometown of Spokane, WA and have lived here in S.W. Florida ever since. So this is home to me now and I'm still loving the wonderful sun and beautiful beaches.

I went to massage school in 2006 at the 'Sarasota School of Massage Therapy,' and was licensed in 2007. Since then I have worked for myself and for a variety of massage establishments including 'Silhouettes Day Spa' in Englewood, and later for an interesting company called 'Amenity Pro' who are out of LasVegas originally, providing casino and poker room massage to it's guest's.

I came to find Venice Massage in April of '09, where I originally worked for Michelle until May of 2010 when she made me partner. This was a very happy moment for the both of us, me especially of coarse, and I think our clients can appreciate the synergy we have created here because of it. We feel blessed to have such great clients who have supported us even through a move, and for Michelle through many moves. We would like to be concidered an oasis for the city of Venice and it's surrounding area's, thank you so much for your support!
